Centurion Golf Estate solar installation
Residential · Estate

Centurion Golf Estate

Centurion, Gauteng
Equipment: 24 x 620W panels, 16kW Deye hybrid inverter, 4 x 10kWh Volta batteries

The client's goal was to operate fully off-grid while maintaining their existing lifestyle, including extensive daytime air-conditioning use. A detailed assessment showed the available roof space couldn't safely accommodate the array size that would require. Rather than oversizing the system or asking the client to change their consumption habits, we designed the largest practical system the property could support — supplying approximately 80% of their energy requirements from solar and battery storage, while letting the household keep living the way they choose.

It's a good example of our approach: design around the property, the usage and the people who live there, rather than forcing a theoretical solution that doesn't work in practice.

Mooikloof solar installation
Residential

Mooikloof

Mooikloof, Pretoria
Equipment: 31 x 545W panels, 30kW Deye inverter, 60kWh Volta Cube high-voltage batteries

For this large Mooikloof residence, the client's priority was uninterrupted power. In the event of a grid outage, they wanted the home to continue operating seamlessly, without having to compromise on their normal day-to-day usage.

The system was designed around the substantial energy requirements of the property, combining a 30kW Deye Volta Cube system, 60kWh Volta high-voltage batteries and 31 x 545W solar panels. The result is a powerful, carefully engineered solution that provides dependable energy continuity while significantly reducing the home's reliance on the grid.

Tiegerpoort solar installation
Residential · Smallholding

Tiegerpoort

Tiegerpoort, Pretoria
Equipment: 16kW SunSynk inverter (upgraded from 8kW), 4 x 10kWh Freedom Won batteries, plus 6 additional 450W panels

The client already had an existing 8kW SunSynk system, but as their energy requirements grew, so did their goal: to move completely off-grid. Rather than replacing everything and starting again, we assessed the existing installation and upgraded it to make better use of the equipment already in place.

The system was upgraded to a 16kW SunSynk inverter, with an additional 10kWh Freedom Won battery added to the client's existing three 10kWh Freedom Won batteries. Six additional 450W solar panels were also incorporated to increase generation capacity. The result is an expanded, modernised system designed to support the property independently from the grid.

A well-designed solar system doesn't always need to start from scratch. Sometimes the right solution is knowing what to keep, what to upgrade and how to make the existing investment work harder.

Faerie Glen solar installation
Residential

Faerie Glen

Faerie Glen, Pretoria
Equipment: 16 x 610W panels, 8kW Deye inverter, 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries

The client wanted to reduce her monthly electricity costs while taking the first meaningful step towards greater energy independence. With future expansion and an eventual move closer to off-grid living in mind, the system was designed to meet her current needs while providing a strong foundation for what comes next.

The installation includes an 8kW Deye system, 16 x 610W solar panels and 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries, providing substantial solar generation and battery capacity while allowing the system to evolve alongside the client's future energy requirements.

Going off-grid doesn't always happen in one step. With the right design from the beginning, a solar system can grow as your energy goals change.

Businesses, schools, farms and industrial sites.

If you're assessing us for a business or institution, this is the more relevant set.

Arcadia solar installation
Commercial · Student Housing

Arcadia

Arcadia, Pretoria
Equipment: 104 x 620W panels, 50kW Deye inverter, 60kWh Deye battery system

The available municipal supply had become a limiting factor for this student accommodation property. With the City of Tshwane providing only a 100A supply, the available grid capacity was insufficient to comfortably support the energy demands of the residence.

We designed a large-scale solar and battery solution to supplement the available municipal supply and provide the property with significantly greater energy capacity. The installation comprises a 50kW Deye inverter, 104 x 620W solar panels and a 60kWh Deye battery system, creating a robust energy solution designed around the demands of a high-occupancy property.

When the grid becomes the limitation, the right energy system can give a property room to operate beyond it.

Laerskool Goudrand solar installation
Commercial · Education

Laerskool Goudrand

Goudrand, Gauteng
Equipment: 40kW combined SunSynk/Deye inverters across 3 phases, 6 x 10kWh Volta batteries, 72 panels total

Laerskool Goudrand's journey towards energy independence was completed in three carefully planned phases, allowing the school to expand its solar capacity over time while continuing normal day-to-day operations.

Phase one focused on the administration offices, with an 8kW SunSynk system, 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries and 16 solar panels.

Phase two expanded the system to serve the northern section of the school, including the hall and personnel room, with a 12kW Deye system, 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries and 24 solar panels.

The final phase added a further 20kW Deye system, 32 x 620W solar panels and 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries.

Together, the three phases have transformed the school's energy infrastructure into a comprehensive solar and battery system, with Eskom now serving primarily as backup rather than the school's main source of power.

Energy independence doesn't always require one enormous installation. With careful planning, a system can be built in stages, expanding alongside the client's needs and budget until the long-term goal is achieved.

Goudrand Pre-School solar installation
Commercial · Education

Goudrand Pre-School

Goudrand, Gauteng
Equipment: 16 x 620W panels, 8kW Deye inverter, 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries

Faced with increasingly high electricity costs, Goudrand Pre-School wanted a long-term solution that would significantly reduce its dependence on the grid. The goal was to transition the school to an off-grid solar system, with Eskom retained only as backup when required.

We installed an 8kW Deye system, 2 x 10kWh Volta batteries and 16 x 620W solar panels, providing the school with its own solar generation and battery storage for everyday energy needs.

The result is a school powered primarily by solar and stored energy, with Eskom no longer serving as the main electricity supply, but as a secondary backup source.

By changing the grid from the primary supply to the backup, the school gained greater control over both its energy use and its long-term electricity costs.

Hennopper Dairy Farm solar installation
Commercial · Agricultural

Hennopper Dairy Farm

Hennopper, Gauteng
Equipment: 336 x 545W panels, 3 x 50kW SunSynk inverters, 360kWh SunSynk battery capacity, ground-mounted array

As this dairy operation expanded, its existing transformer could no longer support the farm's growing electricity demand. With Eskom unable to provide a larger transformer, the client needed an alternative capable of supporting the energy requirements of a substantial working dairy farm.

We designed and installed a large-scale solar and battery system comprising 3 x 50kW SunSynk inverters, 360kWh of SunSynk battery capacity and 336 x 545W solar panels.

Rather than installing the panels on the farm's existing structures, a dedicated ground-mounted array was designed to optimise solar exposure and system performance. This approach also provides easier access for cleaning and maintenance, while avoiding the additional insurance considerations associated with placing such a substantial array across the existing farm buildings.

The result is a purpose-built energy solution designed around the operational demands of the dairy farm, rather than being constrained by the capacity of the existing grid infrastructure.

When the available grid infrastructure could no longer support the growth of the business, the solar system became part of the farm's infrastructure for growth.

Bosch Silverton solar installation
Commercial · Industrial

Bosch Silverton

Silverton, Pretoria
Equipment: 6 x 15,000VA Victron Quattro inverters, 4 x Victron 450/200 charge controllers, 27kW Fronius inverter, plus a separate 50kW Deye inverter and 60kWh Deye batteries for compressor loads

For this Silverton facility, even a brief interruption in power posed a risk. The client operates sensitive equipment and already had a dedicated generator, but when the grid failed there was an unavoidable delay before the generator could take over. Those few minutes without power were enough to potentially disrupt operations and place valuable equipment at risk.

We designed a solution that provides seamless power continuity while also reducing reliance on grid electricity. The primary system incorporates 6 x 15,000VA Victron inverters, 4 x Victron 450/200 charge controllers, a 27kW Fronius inverter and a substantial solar array.

The facility's high-demand air compressors were addressed separately with an independent 50kW Deye inverter and 60kWh Deye battery system. By separating these demanding loads from the critical equipment, the overall system could be designed around the different energy requirements of each part of the operation.

The result is a resilient energy architecture that bridges the gap between grid failure and generator backup, protects sensitive equipment from interruptions and uses solar and battery power to reduce everyday dependence on the grid.

For operations built around sensitive equipment, backup power isn't only about keeping the lights on. It's about ensuring that critical systems never notice the grid went down.

Efficient — Waterkloof solar installation
Commercial · Carport

Efficient — Waterkloof

Waterkloof, Pretoria
Equipment: 2 x 50kW Deye inverter capacity, 240kWh Deye battery capacity, existing + purpose-built solar carports

For this Waterkloof office block, the challenge extended beyond high electricity consumption. The client was also carrying significant monthly transformer rental costs, making continued dependence on the grid increasingly expensive. The objective was therefore ambitious: remove the property's reliance on Eskom altogether.

We designed a large-scale off-grid solution incorporating two 50kW Deye inverters and 240kWh of Deye battery capacity. To accommodate the required solar generation, panels were installed across the existing carport structures, while additional purpose-built solar carports were constructed to expand the available array area.

A new generator was incorporated as the system's backup power source, allowing the Eskom connection to be removed entirely. The office block now operates successfully off-grid, with solar and battery storage providing its primary energy supply and the generator available when required.

Rather than continuing to pay for grid infrastructure that no longer suited the property's needs, the client now operates its own independent energy system designed around the demands of the business.

For Efficient, going off-grid wasn't simply about installing solar. It was about replacing an ongoing dependency with energy infrastructure of their own.

JF Transport solar installation
Commercial · Logistics

JF Transport

Brits, North West
Equipment: Victron inverters, Fronius inverter, additional Victron 450/200 charge controller, Freedom Won 30/24 batteries, expanded solar array

JF Transport already had a Victron solar system in place, but the existing installation had not been configured and installed to operate at its full potential. Rather than replacing serviceable equipment, we assessed the complete system, identified the limitations and redesigned key elements of the installation.

The existing Fronius inverter was relocated from its incorrect downstream position to the Victron inverter room, an additional Victron 450/200 charge controller was installed, and the solar array was expanded with additional panels. Further battery capacity was added using Freedom Won 30/24 batteries, allowing the system to better support the property's energy requirements.

With the installation corrected, expanded and optimised as an integrated system, JF Transport was able to move fully off-grid and ultimately cancel its Eskom supply.

This project demonstrates that achieving energy independence doesn't always mean starting again. With the right assessment and system design, quality existing equipment can often be corrected, expanded and made to perform the way it was originally intended.

Eagle Fuel Injection solar installation
Commercial · Manufacturing

Eagle Fuel Injection

Rosslyn, Pretoria
Equipment: 3 x 15,000VA Victron inverters, 2 x Freedom Won batteries, Victron 450/200 charge controllers, dedicated solar array

Ongoing concerns around electricity billing led the client to look for a more independent and predictable energy solution. The objective was to move away from reliance on the grid and give the business greater control over its own electricity supply.

We designed an off-grid Victron solution incorporating 3 x 15,000VA Victron inverters, 2 x Freedom Won batteries, Victron 450/200 charge controllers and a dedicated solar array. The system combines solar generation, battery storage and robust inverter capacity to support the operational requirements of the business independently from the grid.

The result is an energy system that gives the client greater control over how their electricity is generated, stored and used, while removing the uncertainty that originally prompted the move towards energy independence.

For this client, going off-grid was as much about gaining control over their energy supply as it was about generating their own power.
