Understanding Solar
Solar Care vs a one-off service call
Both get someone out to look at your system — here's what actually differs.
The one-off callout
Something looks wrong, you call, and someone comes out to diagnose and quote the fix. It works — but every visit starts from zero. There's no history of what's already been checked, and no equipment record unless you've kept your own paperwork.
What membership changes
With Solar Care, that history already exists. Your Solar Passport holds your equipment details, Certificate of Compliance, warranties and every fault that's been logged and resolved — so whoever attends isn't starting blind.
Preventative vs reactive
A one-off call only happens after something's already gone wrong. Membership works the other way around — the Annual Solar Health Check and a yearly panel cleaning (difficult or specialist-access installations may need an additional quote) are there to catch a loose connection or a dropping Health Score before it turns into a breakdown.
Cost
Solar Care is R199 per property, per month, for residential systems up to 24 panels (larger residential and commercial systems get an individual quote), and includes discounted member labour rates on top of everything above. A one-off visit is billed for that visit alone, at full rate, with nothing carried forward to the next one.
Which one suits you
If you need one specific thing sorted and nothing more, a one-off call does the job. If you'd rather have an ongoing record, annual servicing and priority support built in as standard, membership carries more value the longer you keep the system.
