What a Solar Health Check actually checks
Solar Care members get one every year — here's what actually happens during the visit.
Every Solar Care membership includes one Annual Solar Health Check — an on-site inspection that updates your Solar Passport, adds new photos, recalculates your Health Score, and reviews your warranties. Here's what that visit is actually looking at.
What gets inspected
- The physical condition of your panels and mounting — cracks, hot spots, or racking that's come loose.
- Wiring and connections — corrosion or a loose terminal is one of the more common, and more preventable, causes of a system quietly underperforming.
- Your inverter — fault history, firmware, and whether it's ventilated properly.
- Battery health and how it's cycling over time.
- Earthing and safety, confirming your installation still meets the standard it was signed off to.
What you get afterwards
Updated photos and an updated equipment record in your Solar Passport, plus a recalculated Health Score. If anything needs attention, you get a plain-English explanation and a separate quote for the work — repairs and corrective work aren't part of the monthly membership fee, so there's no surprise bill attached to a health check.
Why it matters for warranties
Manufacturer warranties often expect some proof that a system has actually been maintained. A dated, on-record annual inspection is exactly that proof — one more reason it's worth doing every year, not just when something already feels wrong.
